Tibet Kailash Tour Via Zangmu

This tour gives you the opportunity to make the "ultimate pilgrimage" to holy Kailas and Manasarovar. Starting from Kathmandu in Nepal the tour includes traveling overland to the sacred Manasarovar Lake and Mount Kailas. You will have the chance to camp by the ethereal waters of the holy lake and to take part in a 3-day khora trek around Mt. Kailas as a highlight of this spiritual journey to a holy and beautiful land.
Rigorous overland driving, trekking and camping, through the remote and wild western Tibet, in altitudes between 2,745m/9,000ft and 4,880m/16,000ft and hiking to a maximum of 5600m/18,400ft. A Nepalese Sherpa team that includes a camp cook who will prepare all meals will support this tour. All camping equipment will be provided and will be led by a Nepalese guide. While trekking, clients carry a small daypack only and hike at easy pace. All equipment and luggage will be carried by porters/pack-animals. there is two option to visit Kailash via Zangmu, please find details itenerary as mention below:

Itenerary Brief [ 1]

Day1: Drive from Kathmandu (1303 m.) to Kodari. Trek 8 km to Zhangmu (2220). Overnight at Zhangmu Hotel.
Day2: Drive from Zhangmu to Mala (4000 m) via Menhating and Tongla Pass (4990 m). Overnight (O / N) in Camps.
Day3: Drive from Mala to Saga(4840 m) crossing the river "Yarling Tsangpo" by ferry. From Saga drive to Tsongpa(4500 m) and break camp between Baryang(4540 m), overnight at camp.
Day4: Drive towards Mayumla(4900 m) and stay overnight near the river. Drive from Saga .Overnight at Hotel.
Day5: Cross the Mayumla pass and drive to Lake Mansarovar(4520 m). Overnight in camp.
Day6: Day free for rest. Purification bath in the holy lake etc. Overnight in camp
Day7: Drive to Darchen ( 4,700 m). Overnight at Hotel in Darchen or in tents
Day8: Start trek around Mt. Kailash (6656 m). Overnight in tents.
Day9: Trek and cross the Dormala pass ( 5600 m).Overnight in tents.
Day10: Trek and return to Darchen. Overnight in tents.
Day11: Start return journey by driving up to Samsang. Overnight in tents.
Day12: Drive from Samsang to Tsongpa. Overnight in tents.
Day13: Drive from Tsongpa to Saga or Mala. Overnight in tents.
Day14: Drive from Saga or Mala to Zhangmu. Overnight at Zhangmu Hotel.
Day15: Trek 8 kms. to Kodari and drive to Kathmandu.

Day14: Tsongpa. Overnight in Camps.
Day15: Drive from Sigar to Sigatse. Overnight at Hotel.
Day16: Drive from Sigatse to Gyantse. Overnight at Hotel.
Day17: Drive from Gyantse to Lhasa. Overnight at Hotel.
Day18: Lhasa Sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel.
Day19: Lhasa fly back to kathmandu.

Day 2: Drive to Tingri.
Day 3: Drive to Sangsang.
Day 4: Drive to Saga.
Day 5: Drive to Prayang.
Day 6: Drive to Manasarovar Lake.
Day 7: Morning free at Manasarovar. Drive to DARCHEN.
Day 8: Start Kailas trek to Drira Puk.
Day 9: Trek over Drolma La pass to Zuthul Puk.
Day 10: End trek at Darchen. PM Drive to Nyoze.
Day 11: Drive to Dongba.
Day 12: Drive to Sangsang.
Day 13: Drive to Tingri.
Day 14: Drive Zangmu.
Day 15: Drive Kathmandu.
NOTE: On the return journey it may be possible to take the seasonal route crossing the ZANGPO River at SAGA on day 12. This high route goes past MT. SHISAPANGMA and PAIKO TSHO Lake to meet the Arniko Highway close to LALUNG LA Pass on day 14.
